Elena Panayiotou started her professional career with Dr. K. Chrysostomides & Co in 1997 and re-joined the firm as a Senior Associate in the Corporate & Commercial department in August 2014. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in the Legal Department of the largest bank in Cyprus for more than 13 years.
Elena has considerable experience in corporate and secured financing law and has advised extensively on a range of issues including, indicatively, corporate capacity, authority and proper execution, the perfection and enforcement of securities and regulatory compliance. She has been heavily involved in Project Finance and Syndicated Lending and has assisted with the completion of complex projects, involving inter alia, immovable property and share purchases. She has regularly dealt with drafting and updating standard or tailored made legal documents, such as loan, assignment and security agreements and more recently, following the 2013 financial crisis in Cyprus, she has advised extensively on the various Decrees issued by Ministry of Finance on the bail in and payments restrictive measures.
